Boots have supported Macmillan cancer support for an impressive 12 years!  Their aim is to  help to ensure people that have been affected by cancer, whether it be themselves or a loved one, have access to the best cancer information and support in their local community.

It can be a difficult process helping to care for a loved one who is suffering from Cancer, and Macmillan’s professional staff members are there to help relieve any excess stress that this can cause.

Thanks to the efforts of Boots colleagues and customers, they have been able to help raise more than £15 million for Macmillan Cancer Support since the start of their partnership in 2009.

Boots and Macmillan have combined to help more than 2,200 Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacists complete the necessary training to offer support to people affected by cancer and their loved ones. Boots UK pharmacists and No7 beauty advisors have also been given special training to be more comfortable and helpful when talking to people living with cancer so that they can be confident with providing both medical support and emotional support.

Throughout the pandemic, it has been harder than ever to support those living with cancer, but this has not stopped Macmillan nurses, support workers, and other healthcare professionals from doing just that. In doing this, they helped to alleviate additional pressure on the NHS at a time where they faced untold levels of overflowing and a demand for medical equipment.
