Charity partnerships are key to us and the stores at Handforth Dean Retail Park, and this year Marks and Spencer are celebrating an impressive 12 years in partnership with Macmillan’s coffee mornings

Macmillan supports those living with cancer by helping them with any questions or care needs they may have. M&S has been able to raise a total of more than £21 million for Macmillan Cancer Support.    That’s enough to support 351 Macmillan support staff for a year!  Isn’t that amazing? They couldn’t do it without the support of their generous customers too.

On September 24th, coffee mornings return once again after a period of uncertainty throughout the COVID period, if you’re looking to get involved you can host your own coffee morning whenever you want.

In the UK, a total of nearly 3 million people are living with cancer and that figure is predicted to reach 4 million by 2030, further emphasising how important the work by Macmillan staff can be and why they need our support to continue their hard work.

Throughout September, Colin the Caterpillar will be going under a green makeover as seen above in support of Macmillan, and a 10% donation from sales of big Colins and the matching mini Colins will go to Macmillan Cancer Support. You can find a green Colin the Caterpillar in-store now, as well as served in M&S Cafes where a 5p donation will be made from each sale.

The money that M&S colleagues and customers raise this year will go towards funding Macmillan professionals like Vikki, who supported Kate after she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. You can find out more about this story here.
